Hey, give the boyfriend a break! Why should we expect boyfriends to be the perfect supporters when we don’t even know how to be good supporters of ourselves? We’re all just saying & doing what we have been taught; and some of us have even come a long way from what we learned. We are all learning how to be kinder to ourselves & to each other regarding body image & health & emotions; so give the guys a break ! We have to teach each other how to be genuinely supportive!

I find your comment disgusting, you should educate yourself more on alcoholism and obesity. If someone has an addiction that doesn’t make them a bad person, they need help and people to encourage and be there for them. Who are you to tell people what they should be ashamed of, get over yourself and try and work on the empathy.

but you SHOULD have been ashamed of your weight back then. obesity is disgusting. nothing good about it. its an addiction to food, just like an alcoholic has an addiction to liquor. you wouldn’t look at a drunk and say “oh yeah he’s a great person, even if he has this compulsive disorder where he needs to intoxicate himself 24/7″, so there is no reason to look at a fat person and say “yeah shes fat but shes a good person even though she has a sick emotional attatchment to food”
